The article says that it could become a hurricane, not that it's expected to do so.

I don't know what this article says because I didn't read it to be honest, but every prediction I've read (I live in Florida so I'm paying attention to it) has said that the storm is expected to be Cat1 or Cat2 when it lands.

If it does, then Ron DeSantis will have a lot of explaining to do to his sycophants when he reaches out for federal aid. I hope if that happens, his aid is held up until he reverses his fascist course.

I don't hope that aid is held up. It's going to Floridians in need, many of whom already hate DeSantis. And anyway it would set a terrible precedent for a President to try to punish people living in states where the governor is a political opponent.

On the other hand, I do hope that DeSantis is politically humiliated by the federal aid.

That's what I was driving at. Worded poorly by me.
