Good. The Earth is overpopulated already and the population will continue to grow. This will exacerbate climate change even further as well.

I always saw it as the planet continues to collapse, both socially and environmentally, what would the purpose be of bringing another soul into the situation. The UK is seeing temps not forcasted until 2050, the global water situation looks worse each day and on average folks seems to be way more inclined to follow along without true thought or reflection. I see it as a selfish move to introduce a youngster into this mess.

I agree with you and @admin@beehaw.org, but I will still have children.

I also didn't ask to be here or liked to be here for most of my life, but it has gotten better and changed my perspective.

For our first decade being together, my wife and I were planning on NOT having children. We ended up changing our minds and I'll explain why. More than ever, this world needs loving people. So, my wife and I committed ourselves to raising two loving sons. I'm happy to report that our plan is working and our sons will make a positive impact in this world.

From Wikipedia:

According to a 2021 paper published in Frontiers in Conservation Science, humanity almost certainly faces a "ghastly future" of mass extinction, biodiversity collapse, climate change and their impacts unless major efforts to change human industry and activity are rapidly undertaken.
