Oddly, this would be scarier to me if I hadn't lived through a protracted 40-year loss of economic and social liberty on the part of the working class and working poor. It seems to me we have bipartisanship for all the really shitty things.

There hasn't been a minimum wage increase in almost 20 years, despite the vulgar increase in cost living nationwide. The majority of Americans can no longer afford to see a doctor or get a college degree. We no longer have autonomy over our own bodies, and neither party is doing anything to stop it. They are, however, making hundreds of billions appear out of thin air for other countries' wars. The cherry on the top of this shit pie is that 99% of voters don't see support for child genocide or brain damage as disqualifying for the presidency.

Republicans turn back the clock. Democrats make sure no one fixes the damage. It's the ratchet effect.

The only plus I see here is that circumstances in the US are so bad that it's forced labor unions to get stronger by necessity.
