Does anybody know of any online courses that are available through torrents? I'm looking specifically for engineering courses (lectures, instructional videos).

I really want to ditch spotify, but its just so convenient to be able to search and stream music on any device at a moments notice. Not to mention the fact that its integrated with a music player that can quickly queue up, or add to playlist a searched song. Is there any software (or collection of software) that can emulate the convenience of spotify?

Hey y'all, In the past I had arranged that /f/piracy in raddle.me would be the fallback forum for /r/piracy, but I recently noticed that raddle.me has disabled new user registrations and that would be a problem in case we need it.

And with reddit about to go public, it might be needed.

Instead of trying to spin up my own lemmy instance, I was thinking if I could get a mod position in this forum and specify it as the official /r/piracy fallback instead.

Feel free to PM me in reddit for verification.

Did you know that a NFT is just a hyperlink [1] to an image thats usually hosted on Google Drive or another web2.0 webhost?

People are dropping millions on instructions on how to download images. That's why you can right click save-as because they are standard images. The image is not stored in the blockchain contract.

As web2.0 webhosts are known to go offline (404 errors) this handy torrent contains all of the NFT's so that future generations can study this generations tulip mania and collectively go..."WTF? We destroyed our planet for THIS?!"

I have no idea why so many people seem to believe Irdeto is a big company...

For perspective, Irdeto's parent company is a South African broadcasting firm currently under investigation and threat of having their assets frozen for $6.6bn of unpaid fiscal dues over the past decade - more than their annual revenue this year. Stocks have been taking a sharp nosedive, of course. This is not helped by the fact they've been under the sights of the International Court of Justice for the broadcast of violent conversion therapies, hate speech and breach of human rights. Ironically they also have been sued repeatedly for multiple copyright infringements . Denuvo suddenly closing is completely in the realm of possibilities.

Furthermore, despite their boast of being a world leader in digital security Irdeto itself does not seem to be a leader of anything. They don't appear in any software analyst's publications for the 20, 30 or even 150 best cybersecurity firms... they're not even a footnote in lists limited to their home country, the Netherlands. All the awards featured on their product pages are phony vanity awards received in exchange for a 800$ fee... you can even create your own custom category to compete all by yourself for a 1800$ "sponsor" fee. Their main revenue appears to come from designing tv decoder boxes exclusively for the African Market.

So there you go, violence, homophobia, hate speech, scams and fraud. Irdeto? A mere grease stain floating in a sea of manure.

” Hi everyone The psycho immunogical treatment and immunization from covid exists but they are not releasing it. I know it might sound strange if you don't know the model of the institute, but proof that there is pudding, as they say, do not disregard without researching it, for me I have my proof I was cleared of Lyme disease last year and I that I was made immune in two sessions As I said I know that the Peak State Institute http://www.peakstates.com/covid19.html over the past 5 months has had a stable neuroimmunological treatment for Covid 19, which eliminates it, and also makes a person immune, but they haven't released it yet, and it may be at least a year or two before they release it! Can someone hack the researcher's email and download the cure files and then let me know so I can show how to use the methods and then upload the cure, files and my explanations everywhere? Grant@peakstates.com and kirsten@peakstates.com are the main researchers, files will be in their emails, due to website updates, please ignore anything older than 5 or 6 months. I can't pay financially, but since the treatments are from the institute and they are not simple, I can help, I know quite a bit how to translate the jargon and what are the different methods and how to apply them, so I can contribute to this project. Without my know-how, the files and records would be useless, and without you, the hacker, I would not be able to get the files. You can use it for yourself, for your family and for humanity. Anyone who does this will definitely be doing a huge service to humanity with 7 billion karma points! Please take this into account! Thank you!

A Rescue Mission for Sci-Hub and Open Science

Elsevier and the USDOJ have declared war against Sci-Hub and open science. The era of Sci-Hub and Alexandra standing alone in this fight must end. We have to take a stand with her.

On May 7th, Sci-Hub's Alexandra Elbakyan revealed that the FBI has been wiretapping her accounts for over 2 years. This news comes after Twitter silenced the official Sci_Hub twitter account because Indian academics were organizing on it against Elsevier.

Sci-Hub itself is currently frozen and has not downloaded any new articles since December 2020. This rescue mission is focused on seeding the article collection in order to prepare for a potential Sci-Hub shutdown.

Alexandra Elbakyan of Sci-Hub, bookwarrior of Library Genesis, Aaron Swartz, and countless unnamed others have fought to free science from the grips of for-profit publishers. Today, they do it working in hiding, alone, without acknowledgment, in fear of imprisonment, and even now wiretapped by the FBI. They sacrifice everything for one vision: Open Science.

Why do they do it? They do it so that humble scholars on the other side of the planet can practice medicine, create science, fight for democracy, teach, and learn. People like Alexandra Elbakyan would give up their personal freedom for that one goal: to free knowledge. For that, Elsevier Corp (RELX, market cap: 50 billion) wants to silence her, wants to see her in prison, and wants to shut Sci-Hub down.

It's time we sent Elsevier and the USDOJ a clearer message about the fate of Sci-Hub and open science: we are the library, we do not get silenced, we do not shut down our computers, and we are many.

Rescue Mission for Sci-Hub

If you have been following the story, then you know that this is not our first rescue mission.

Rescue Target

A handful of Library Genesis seeders are currently seeding the Sci-Hub torrents. There are 850 scihub torrents, each containing 100,000 scientific articles, to a total of 85 million scientific articles: 77TB. This is the complete Sci-Hub database. We need to protect this.

Rescue Team

Wave 1: We need 85 datahoarders to store and seed 1TB of articles each, 10 torrents in total. Download 10 random torrents from the scimag collection, then load the torrents onto your client and seed for as long as you can. The articles are coded by DOI and in zip files.

Wave 2: Reach out to 10 good friends to ask them to grab just 1 random torrent (100GB). That's 8,500 seeders. We are now the library.

Final Wave: Development for an open source Sci-Hub. freereadorg/awesome-libgen is a collection of open source achievements based on the Sci-Hub and Library Genesis databases. Open source de-centralization of Sci-Hub is the ultimate goal here, and this begins with the data, but it is going to take years of developer sweat to carry these libraries into the future.

Heartfelt thanks to the /r/datahoarder and /r/seedboxes communities, seedbox.io and NFOrce for your support for previous missions and your love for science.

I really hope this is a belated April Fools joke...

I just saw the huge list of sites that yt-dl supports, and it's ... well staggering. I've been playing around with it a bit more, and I'm writing custom aliases for ease of downloading. For example I made:

alias bandcamp-dl="youtube-dl -x --audio-format mp3 --add-metadata -o '~/Music/%(artist)s/%(album)s/%(track_number)02d - %(track)s.%(ext)s'"

That alias allows me to do bandcamp-dl <http://some-album.url>, and then it creates the proper artist and album directories in my music library, adds the tracks as mp3s with formatted file names, and sets their metadata so my music app can pick it up.

Anyone else have some handy aliases or yt-dl commands that do something cool?

In a recent tweet, Hyppönen mentioned that the software company removed one of his tweets that linked to an old copy of Acrobat Reader for MS-DOS. This software, hosted on WinWorld, came out more than 27-years ago, shortly after the PDF was invented.

Hi. I'm downloading a torrent using BiglyBT, and it says I have no seeds for my torrent. Is there a way to find more seeds for my torrent? I was using i2p to download, but my download kept getting stalled, so I decided to switch over to BiglyBT.
