I dig the hardware transcoding, the hdr-sdr tone mapping and the tablet App.

If you use Plex free and never found the limitations to be a burden, you have your answer.

All in all I personally find that a one time unlimited subscription is a great deal that is rarely seen nowadays

APNG, WebP, AVIF, WebM. Not sure about JpegXL

GIF is size and ressource heavy

Honestly she should just ignore all of this and move on with her life and brilliant career.

Who are we taking about here

Shorts ruined the subscription feed.

You can't really blame creators for trying to stay afloat, but fuck Google for not letting me turn off YT Short Notifications

The fact that GIF is still a thing in 2023 is baffling

I swear if I see another post about how stupid X is for a name I'm gonna lose it

This is mind blowing

[–] twistedtxb@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

This is the way.

Don't do it, but if you decide to do it anyway, use DbPoweramp

Autoplaying gifs are in fact small sized webp files that Lemmy natively supports.

But I agree that a inline video / gif viewer is mainly the last big thing I want in a Lemmy client. It's a burden having to tap to open them without any preview
