That is such a strange hill to die on though. I understand that what is legal/illegal does not always correspond to what is right, but it’s really weird to defend content like that.

I personally don’t like Material design in general, and if I had a choice I’d pick something with Apple’s design principles.

With that said, the more the merrier so I’m definitely rooting for the app. Don’t mean to sound discouraging. It’s just a preference, but I would definitely try it out at least.

I also think that maybe it takes a while, I’ll take a look later and let you know!

Don’t worry about it.

No worries, I’m still figuring things out myself. The link I posted doesn’t even work actually, I can’t find that community here but maybe it will show up eventually?

I also think a feature like that would be great but it seems like something that actual Lemmy devs have to look at. It’ll also probably take a while for users to use it, but I agree it’s a bit annoying when you just want to share a link.

Hi, could you edit your post so that the link is through beehaw? I don’t know the correct terminology, but it would be great if people here could access the community and actually see the advantages of federation.

Just link beehaw.org/c/aphantasia@lemmy.world

I guess we’ll have to see which one is better in the coming weeks/months. But since you can see all the content anyways, I think more important is picking an instance that suits you.

Mastodon is a micro-blogging platform, just like twitter. There are many instances and it’s also federated, so it doesn’t matter which instance you register your account at.

kbin in a separate software from lemmy. The same way that Mastodon is different but still federated.

old.reddit is definitely going soon too unfortunately. I thought I’d just use that, but reddit’s actions in the past few days have convinced me that after 10 years it’s time to go.
