I'd guess they were made an offer they couldn't refuse, ie money.

FYI, Lemmy and Kbin are Progressive Web Apps, meaning you can install them as regular apps to your phone's home screen in c/lemmyworld@lemmy.world

I was struggling to understand why hot and active were showing only posts from days ago. I like both kbin and Lemmy though. Lemmy feels a bit more like classic Reddit to me.

Going back to Reddit feels bad in c/chat@beehaw.org

Seems many people have gone back though, since kbin is much faster than it was this time yesterday.
