Same thing with folks who say they are in to the ‘brutal honesty’ thing, it should be about the honesty…essentially it’s about the earnestness of the thing instead of just using comedy/etc as cover to be an asshole (like Chappel).

My cats don't understand they're supposed to lay inside these things. in c/cat@lemmy.world

Me too, happened to catch him at a club a little before he blew up and I remember laughing my ass off…can’t vouch for anything he’s done since tho, it’s def possible his act didn’t age well so grain of salt
