Fucking hell the "Steam Deck killers" is a stupid trend.

They really do hit you with all the specs that are supposed to put the deck to shame, but the reveal their ludicrous price, completely ignoring the major advance the things has.

That's a simple trick, but cheap and dirty, so it's pretty garbo anyway. No respect for handhelds themselves or anyone reviewing them or taking any sponsorship that do anything like that.

We're past that phase because the government today is largely comprises of people installed by Putin, with many de-facto owning a lot of big and economically important companies, so we technically don't see a lot of lobbying, because it's not like anyone forces Putin or his clique to make certain decisions one way or another - everyone got there because of Putin, and they're either loyal to the end, mortally afraid to not be loyal, or already dead.

I think it's fair to say that we used to have lobbying and such when the oligarchy was much more rampant and had maybe more influence on the government, but Putin made sure to deal with that. Not in the best way, of course, because given the choice between having multiple people calling the shots amd just one, I'd always pick the former, for there's at least some chance that they may discuss things and arrive at a compromise more sensible than anything that a single ego maniac surrounded by yes-men (non-yes-men to be terminated) could ever conceive. That being said, I'd much rather get rid of both and live in proper democracy, even with all of its supposed flaws - may not be perfect, but much closer to perfect that any of the crap.

No, it's really just conservative old men pushing their "values" onto everyone. They're not actually values because it's not like they honestly believe in them or have any good reasoning to oppose the pro-choice arguments, but rather just outdated views they grew up with and refuse to further grow out of.

The current Russian govenermnt, led by Putin, is not about planning or long-term goals of any kind - all of them, on every level, both federal and regional, only care about their own wellbeing, not the country, its budgets, or anything that a government is supposed to care about.

Trust me, I've been living here for decades.

True. Having never actually been abroad, I know what I know based on immense amounts of various conversations I've had with people all over the world in several languages - learning that, despite all the differences, we're all largely similar on very important ways, is a very humbling, wholesome, and eye-opening experience. Also usually makes you much more resistant to all the exploitation posing as some "Do it for your country!" crap.

Judging by the fact that he had to work with Putin, that doctor is definitely under all possible monitoring and restrictions. Probably also listed as a part of one of the many services so they could impose the same restrictions, which include very limited travel, expecially internationally.

This kind of things happens to people much less close to Putin, Kremlin, or anything like that, so the doc definitely had even tighter restrictions.

They don't think that. They just know that the people will pay up anyway, bringing in the profits for shareholders and the C-suite, and that's all that matters.

The DLCs, cosmetics, MTX, etc. are all pretty much alive and well despite everything just because enough people cash out, so why change their ways?

AAA gaming is a big industry, and big industries are nothing wholesome.

Definitely prefer a phone with a proper jack over one without. I know there's adapters, but that's taking up the only available slot, and I don't appreciate that at all.

I've been using my Bluetooth buds for a couple of moths now, and while loving them, I don't want to be limited to only Bluetooth for my audio, be for unfortunate cases when the buds don't work, or for something as simple as having a great wired pair at hand.

Same here in Russia. The old ass government is so quick to ban absolutely anything, but somehow haven't taken any action on anything that actually matters.

Not that I'm surprised in any capacity, just mad.

I think the poster above you is trying to say that the materials and operations involved in EV production are even worse than that of the ICE vehicles combined with the their post-manufacture emissions. As far as I understand, a completely electronic vehicle (not a hybrid) would produce no emissions of its own, compared to one with an internal combustion engine.

But I understand equally little abort both.

It's insanely more expensive than any of the other options, even the long-term storage deep down underground with further burial and complete abandonment of the location in a way that would make the location as unremarkable as possible, preventing future generations developing interest to potential markings.

Tom Scott has a great, rather concise video about that. It's not really just ground, but rock, making it even more secure and unaffected, especially given that the waste is first sealen into special containers.
