Western countries should look at this and learn from it. In this part of the world, rivers are canals, infrastructures are made to to flow water as quickly as possible to the sea or ocean. The water need to stay locally to recharge the underwater, to provide water to local communities, to feed people, etc.
We distroyed the environment and need to change that.
China has another advantage. They don't ask the market or the people of they are fine with the idea.
In the meantime, US and Europe don't do anything is because of the neoliberal idea that the market will solve all problems through the magic of capitalism. This has been true for the past 3 decennia now. And, we knew renewable must be a thing.

The short version is that Meta see any type of competitors has a treat to its capital. It will do whatever is needed to fight it and destroy it. They introduced stories for Snapchat, reels for TikTok, etc. With the fediverse, they federate to extinguish it.
Who didn't this coming? Seriously, meta will take what they want to increase the capital and makes everything else invisible.
Fediverse isn't here to say yes to everything. We have the freedom to say no and this is the power of the fediverse. It's allowing and denying. And Meta is a threat to the fediverse.
It's not the freedom of federating. It's the freedom of being outside corpo.
