interesting, i didn't go with vibram because i assumed the climate would be bad for "everyday" use. also i am not too impressed with the build quality of my v-runs. i actually had to get me socks for them because of eg. rubbing off skin on the back and the sole / glue of the sole hurting the toes. i think v-track were my first... they have been good enough to run without socks.
For when i am not at home (farm), or when i go running (i really should do that regularely again), i prefer barefoot shoes nowadays. Those who take it seriously and have a wide toebox such as Wildling
also come with the benefit (for me) that they fit my wide feet, since i otherwise tend to give up and have to buy oversized shoes, which in turn also makes them die faster.
It does not sound like OVHs vServers offer dedicated cores, and it is common to quickly become a bottleneck with VPS offerings across hosters and for example with the initial Mastodon hypes, i had to learn that shared hardware lesson the hard way. For the price you are currently paying, maybe something like a used dedicated (or one of the fancy AMD ones) server at Hetzner is of interest: https://www.hetzner.com/sb
in vservers, it depends on the memory … and storage option for the one starting at 30…
the crawler seems to run somewhen after midnight cest – maybe 1-3am
No, thats the 8 GB memory option... if its the biggest, it should be around 112 €. Meanwhile i keep wondering if i should let Lemmy stay on the current KVM (which is similarely specked but with dedicated cores and stuff) or if it is better to move it to one of my dedis just in case... well... will see xD
oh, doesn't sound so good, thanks for the warning!
