We've had nothing but politicians working with americanism and populism for the last 25 years, people have become stupid and lazy. I remember the last time a right-wing populist party had 30% votes, the day before the election it came to light that they planned to work with extremist/nazis. They dropped below 5% over night.

Today the same situation just led to even more people voting for that party.

Only 40 years apart.

You're right, I mistook it for BSW. My bad.

This might be too late since it circulated a lot, but the 'Hanga Dýra Mingja' part isn't actually 'Hanga Dýra Mingja'. It supposedly was old Icelandic but it makes no sense grammatically and the word Mingja does not exist in Old Icelandic. It's more likely to be 'Hangatýr Hamingja´ and then after chanting that a couple of times they say 'Ramr'. It makes more sense since it is a healing song, Hangatýr is Óðinn who is mentioned in the Merseburg incantations, Hamingja is Luck and Good Fortune in Old Norse, as well as a sort of guardian spirit, kind of. Ramr is strength in Old Norse. So really they are chanting ''Hanging God, Spirit of Fortune (bring) Strength'' Makes sense calling on them for healing, rather than hanging animals, I guess

Goes kind of like this

Hangatýr Hamingja
Hangatýr Hamingja
Hangatýr Hamingja
Hangatýr Hamingja
Hangatýr Hamingja Raaaaaaaaammmmmmmmrrrr!

That's nice but if 98% are from somewhere with a completely different culture and form of governance then I will probably be not be able to connect much. You avoiding the question has me assume it's US-based?

Thanks!

Is the main body of your user base North American, European or Asian?

Do you support the (responsible) use of psychedelics for therapy?

It's ded, Jim. :(

So far I've checked several "getting started"'s and FAQ's and Google and everyone just tells me that it's possible but nobody tells me fucking WHERE. So obviously I'm in need of help. Preferably with a diagram or colourful pictures.

Edit: Okay, so old.lemmy.world doesn't seem to have been updated to allow instance blocking. Did it on the vanilla UI, thanks for everyone who rubbed my face into it! Appreciate the help. <3
