people who do dumb shit like this just never have something to occupy their time, so they just spend it trying to make someone else’s life miserable

only thing i cant stand about lemmy is trying to understand what the fuck it is and how it works.

some top post about a “sub”? “lemmy place”? idk what to call it, “defederating from us”. does that mean from all lemmy things, that lemmy thing? what does it mean to defederate? is there an easy way to browse for subs like reddit?

no one would, because people who already get it act like any of this makes sense

there’s waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much nerding out over how it works, “federating”, and being open instead of being user friendly.

wants to compete with reddit, but its accessibility on a big scale is near 0 with the current approach

i wish people would stop thinking these words mean something that everyone knows

discussed lemmy with a friend the other day, who agreed people need to stop nerding out over how it functions, and just let it do what people are wanting it to do, which is replace reddit.

not to mention, the people discussing it just act like how it functions is a common knowledge that just makes sense.

instances, “federated”, “defederated”, user in one spot can have the same name as a user in another spot. does lemmy interact with kbin, wtf is a kbin.

dont make your acct here, make it somewhere else?
