Well it was only for a day, they thought they could intimidate me out of supporting the candidate I preferred. They are not perfect, but I still value a relationship with them 🤷‍♂️

Was playing DOTA 2 a while back, ended up playing against a 5 man team that included an account named "DannyMasterson." I asked if it was really him, and someone on his team gave a semi-answer like "it just might be 😉 "

So I targeted his hero, and did a lot of all chat messages about how he was a POS rapist that's going to prison, and how scientology is a cult of predators. I just know that it was actually him, and he was with 4 other scientology cunts. We demolished'em. Never saw his handle again.

I've been dealing with this for a while now. Family kicked me out of the house for supporting Bernie Sanders at one point. It sucks, because I love them very much, but they're Racist with a capital R and die-hard republicans who worship drumpf. Every time we talked they would bait me with their BS, and even when we're NOT talking about politics, it seems every gap in conversation is punctuated with all the vile things they're trying not to say.

My therapist had some great advice. Said that if I value a relationship with them, then the price for having that relationship is never discussing politics.

I'm willing to pay that price, so I told them not to bring it up anymore, and I'll do the same. It's working for the most part, though that doesn't stop other issues from coming up. But hey, that's life! Wouldn't be relatives if they didn't frustrate you endlessly, I guess?

I get what you're saying, that other cultures are not as tolerant, and when said culture pops up in a previously tolerant area, it can cause tensions. To that I'd say that we have a system of government enforcing laws in a uniform manner across a region precisely because not everyone agrees uniformly. You can't strip away the freedom to be wrong, you can only enforce rules that support equity, safety, and inclusion, and do so especially within local populations that seem to eschew it.

But also, not all migrants are intolerant. So assuming that they 1. are, and 2. will stay that way, is a xenophobic dog whistle.
