Functions don't return... equals goto. Everything must be done by side effects... all variables are global. Global state mutation is inheritance... no grok. Every call is non-blocking and spawns a new thread... atomic bomb for junior software engineers.

FWIW I have been running with a whitelist for about 15 years. Kind of a calm feeling to enter a new site every couple of weeks and ignore the busy scripts by default. To each their own.

That doesn't remove Starlink. And there are unfortunately quite a lot of households that do not have network wires. There is quite a lot of the planet that has no hardwired solution.
But what can save astronomy from Starlink?
There are two wrong sides here... so it can be difficult to predict what anyone will lean further away from. Beware of assuming that means they are leaning toward the other side though.

Yes, twice. Was 22 the first time... 13 yrs before our different views on how we should treat each other and our children lead me to leave her. 19yrs with second wife... what a difference... best decision. Unfortunately my family has a high percentage of failed marriages... not hopeful there. Current wife's family has much better success rate. I agree that bringing an attitude of low maintenance compromise (men can also be high maintenance) seems to be key in the successful cases.
