For non-Americans basically what this guy is saying is all of America is like the state/ he's in, which is absolute bullshit. America is very different state to state, and no, we're not all driving huge gas guzzlers lined up to get burgers. Stop being ignorant.

"Is the end goal really to drive a Monster Truck to McDs to get a McFlurry? Americas bloodiest wars have been fought in the middle east to secure oil, bombing nations to rubble."

You really think America is actually like the satirical shit they show on TV? How ignorant.

You're an early adopter like rest of us. In time more will join, but currently it's just us nerd (no surprise).

If the skill set you offer is in demand and the pool of people is too small to meet demand you make a lot of money for that skill set. If the skill set you offer doesn't require much, something that anyone can easily pickup, and the pool of people to pick from is over saturated -- you get paid less for that skill set.

I meant that light heatedly but I see how that could come across as an immature comment. I guess where I'm coming from and failed to articulate in a constructive way is that I'm surprised there's so much support for communism when likely most of the people on here live in capitalist societies that though have issues still allow them enough freedom to make those statements without fear of punishment.

What?

FOSS is great, I like the idea of people from all over the world contributing towards software that benefits the user rather than the creator.

I fail to see how that equates to "communism good" though. That's a huge leap in thinking. Really weird when surely most people on here live and benefit from capitalist societies.

Sounds like you're getting too much of your info from here or reddit because the US is not anything like what's portrayed on television overall. You've got your small pockets of crazies that are unfortunately very loud, hence the reason we look nuts. Yes, every 4 years we get to vote, and that could have some drastic changes on policies. But that's America for you. Don't bash us just because our current leadership is ass.
