I would imagine, like most startups, a large chunk of their compensation is stocks and their valuation has gone up quite a bit. So what would normally be ~$400k total compensation has shot up but a large portion of it is theoretical.

The fun thing is that even if you’re not there, they have a shadow profile to track you
Probably something like wr90
Not enough beans
I’m pretty sure it’s just scraping old.reddit.com which is difficult to block. You probably can’t log in, post, comment, vote, etc right?
Your bladder and kidneys need water to function. Initially, your kidneys slow sending water to your bladder which is why your pee turns dark. Then you start losing water in your blood to keep organs functioning but the decrease in blood volume causes your blood pressure to drop. This makes pumping blood increasingly difficult for your heart so your body will start sending less blood to your organs. This starts damaging all your organs and eventually your kidneys stop filtering your blood. Toxins build up in your brain that’s already not getting enough blood and eventually shuts down and you die.
The mods seem to not like Lemmy specifically but I don’t know what their plan is. It seems like they’re just gonna be in this restricted mode forever. Makes it easier to leave Reddit though.
Why are you even here?
We’re still very early on. It’s not going to be a digg to Reddit style thing. But Reddit will keep making bad decisions and people will trickle over here over time and with each influx, things will have improved. I’ve been here a couple weeks and it seems like every day it gets better.
Also, the technical barriers aren’t as scary to people make it out to be. Yeah we won’t get all the boomers, which is very sad. But I’ve got some very tech illiterate friends who have started using memmy with no problems.
And do we even want to get as big as Reddit? Reddit was great 15 years ago. Then teenagers got smart phones and the olds spread out past Facebook and it’s been on decline ever since. I’d be perfectly happy if it got to like 20% the size of Reddit. Maybe not even that big.

The fact that they’re connected makes it very romantic
Reddit is stupid but do we really want to be as big as Reddit? The quality has tanked in the past several years in large part because of how big it is. I think we’re on a good trajectory. Looking at it as a zero sum game where Reddit has to fail for this to be successful will only leave you disappointed. Reddit doesn’t need to fail for Lemmy to be good.
