I've recently returned to Facebook after many years away from it specifically for some local outdoors groups (lots of good posts there about local trail conditions, good training routes, what stores have/offer X, etc). I keep the blinders on and avoid the main News Feed, and it's been fine. It might be just me, but the idea of having super localized communities on Facebook makes more sense compared to somewhere else like Reddit.

Thanks, now we're cooking with fire! I originally was trying to do it on the Android app, seems like the search isn't functioning as expected. Web UI works as expected, not a big deal anyways since I can just "app-ify" it with a home screen shortcut.
Agreed. It seems promising and has that magic feeling of when I first encountered reddit for the first time post-Digg. That said, the federated aspects is neat but confusing... Still trying to work out how to view communities on different instances.
EDIT: Ok so apparently this post is actually on a different instance. Now I need to figure out how to subscribe to remote communities?
If you like the Asics Gel-Keyanos 27, you could always get newer versions of the shoe - so that would be the 28 or 29; they should be cheaper/discounted since the Asics Gel-Keyanos 30 are just around the corner. From what I've seen (and experienced with the Gel-Nimbus), Asics is modernizing their shoe designs this year so you could make a judgement call as to whether the new 30 are for you or if you want to stock up on the older pairs.
If you're partial towards the Asics fit (I am), I also liked the Asics GT-2000. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS are also a popular stability shoe, but I found it too heavy for myself insofar as a daily running shoe.
