I could add another screen to show the description on the phone, I guess. It renders and works fine from the phone, but, obviously, the descriptions are lacking.

I think they have several times more users than all mastodon instances combined, though?

Viewing lemmy from mastodon just shows you the posts. It's not much useful, as you can’t see the comments, and it tends to be a bit noisy, too. That said, it still works.
