I think safe spaces should be very visually different from discussion forums.

I agree with the title.

My problem with safe spaces on Reddit and to a less extent other web forums is a clear separation between them and discussion forums.

Reddit ( and other forums ) didn't have a way to visually and otherwise separate them from other discussion forums.

They looked just like every other sub where everyone was free to give their polite opinion.

That or you are enjoying a sub, a new crowd shows up, new mods show up, and you begin getting attacked along with everyone else who wasn't there for a safe space.

I don't think produce would go down in price, just that their price would seems so much more appealing over non-subsidized meat.

Yah, it will never happen.

Kind of frustrating since you can see it fitting in with the "Tax me less, don't use my tax money to subsidize someone else!" mentality.

At least in the U.S. taxation wouldn't be needed for animal product prices to reflect their true costs.

Just remove the large government subsidies the animal product industry enjoys and let the free market raise the prices.

I doubt it would happen.

Those subsidies exist because the Nixon administration created them after Americans complained about high food prices. It would be political suicide to remove those subsidies, especially with inflation and price gouging disguised as inflation driving up food prices.

I'm new to Lemmy.

I found this group

https://lemmy.world/c/veganhomecooks

I haven't found a way to subscribe to it while in Beehaw

Thanks for any help.

What is "maker space"? What is the CPP besides a C++ file? A Chinese agency?

How did they even get the contact information for the jurors in the first place?

Is it legally public knowledge?

I never heard of Naomi Wu before.

All of the sudden, articles like this one are all over the place showing a woman with red hair in provocative outfits claiming to be a tech activist being silenced.

Would anyone care to give me a two line summary of who she is and what her deal is?

TNG also failed to flesh out the details of how their economy worked.

It is very easy to say "everyone is just happy and behaves well".

The reception I am getting here is the nicest I've gotten since I left Reddit to try other platforms. It is quickly changing my impression of Lemmy.

Thank you!

Indeed!

I am using it now. Thanks for the tip!

Better than awesome! I've got so many nice responses. My impression of Lemmy is changing quickly! Thank you.

Hey there,

I'm a refugee from Squabbles/Squablr.co.

I didn't care for the recent changes to the TOS nor the "free speech site" dog whistle announcement.

I really liked the lack of downvoting there, so someone suggested Beehaw.

I've been slow to give Lemmy a try. I read that the founder developer and current owner of Lemmy.ML is a "tankie" - a European communist extremist.

Is it possible with my Beehaw account to filter lemmy.ml out and is it something I want to do?

I'm not familiar with subject driven fediverse social media yet.

Happy weekend to all
