Wasn't aware, thanks for the heads up

Although, I do love Boost's UI

Simple question, will there be an available APK to bypass Google Play? And on that note, will Google Play services be required to operate the app?

I use GrapheneOS, and currently only Jerboa meets the criteria (without using microG)

"Very High Quality Games" I check their library every few weeks. A lot of indie and shovelware.

I do not, I have no use case for it. I do however find the transition significant enough to notice. There's no going back. Also, for accuracy's sake, perhaps the mentioning of CDs in the release information and image preparation guides should be examined.

ISO Size Creep (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by bizzo@lemmy.world to c/archlinux@lemmy.ml

2023.07.01 is listed at being 813.3 MB in size. This may just be me, but it feels like only a couple years ago it hit 600 MB, when it could still fit on a CD. It makes me wonder when we'll see it cross a gigabyte in size, and also which modern 64 bit distros can still fit on an actual disc.

Edit: The release information still states "The image can be burned to a CD", in fact it's the very first sentence.

Edit 2: As of 2020.08.01 the ISO size is over the CD-ROM Mode-1 limit.

If anyone is aware of a public forum where WIKI editors tend to hang out, this could be brought up for editing. Too busy to research or submit myself.

Are you aware of this? Boost for Lemmy Super hype for it, all I ever used for reddit was Boost.

Low Quality Apps (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by bizzo@lemmy.world to c/boostforlemmy@lemmy.world

This is just a rant post about the shortage and quality of currently available Lemmy apps on Android... I started with Jerboa, and honestly was pleasantly surprised at its feature set. But it looks... off. I recently started using Connect. I myself (using another account) like to post content, particularly GIFs (hard G btw). Perhaps this issue is simply embedded into mobile apps for Lemmy in general, but I can see the GIFs on desktop just fine... And not on either mobile app. Keeping in mind the GIFs are hyperlinked, not attached. It all just feels sloppy.

Anyways, I can't wait for Boost... It was the only reason I ever even got into Reddit. I hope it helps with some of these issues, although in my particular case, it may come down to how Lemmy handles gif/image links on mobile.

Is there any manufacture of home printers/copiers you would recommend?
