It's fantastic! My biggest gripe about the flat version is how rigid movement feels, which is completely remedied by motion tracking controls.

Same. Except i had to modify it a little bit because I got used to Swift keyboard having suggestions on inputs that don't support it by default.

I've noticed the same. I imagine it's a bug with the particular text editor. I'd recommend opening an issue on github.

I got a VR headset recently and have been having a ball with VR modded games (Subnautica w/ submersed, Gunfire Reborn, Deep Rock Galactic, Fallout 4, etc).

I believe that is in fact the issue. However making larger requests will just cause the issue to happen in a slightly different fashion, that will ensure heavier load. It's largely just a matter of resources that will have to come with hardware upgrades.

Just about any highly acclaimed cinematic games that take away control from the player via cutscenes or by completely lacking fail states thereby bringing the game to a halt until you press the one button they want you to for the illusion of engagement.

The key to inclusive UI/UX is customizability, starting with a simplified template and allowing the individual user to build from there.

I wouldnt limit yourself to native linux. Check out protondb.com. You can even use non-steam games through steam for use with proton (or if you're feeling more technical you could use other tools that are more hands on).
