I'm pretty sure Warren would have outperformed Harris by a mile.
What makes you so sure? The fact that Warren lost in the 2020 primary by giant amounts? π
Bernie was right in 2020. America isn't ready to elect a female president.

Saying women can't be sexist is akin to saying black people can't be racist. Of course they can, and I saw segments where they were interviewing Trump women at rallies and they were saying shit like women are too emotional to lead a country. It turns out people can hate themselves.
It's probably a very unpopular opinion, but I feel like Jon Stewart is a bit overrated. He was at the height of his powers in the GWB era and he helped Kerry to a hefty loss, and then followed that up by running pointless and distracting political rallies that did nothing at all to prevent the 2010 shellacking by the tea party.
He helped provide cover for Trump this election cycle by laughing at him and at times even joking that he was gonna vote for Trump. I guarantee the daily show episodes that couch potato democrats like myself used to soothe themselves during this sleep walk into fascism will age like milk.
I couldn't even bear to watch the election night coverage him and Colbert were doing and I'm sure that it got grim as hell (similar to coverage of 2016) as the jokes started to not match the bleak reality of an upcoming second Trump term.
His lasting political advocacy efforts for things (largely outside of the media) like the 9/11 first responders and Iraqi burn pit veterans are admirable though.
Trump is the most conceited, whiney, cry baby, know it all, jagoff and everybody knows it. He wears it like a medal. And people love it man. They just eat it up.
That's the thing. I'm sick of the media painting this as a "they're holding their noses and voting" thing. This dude doesn't win despite his vulger rallies and his racist, sexist, homophobic, crazy, whiney, criminal, and arrogant behavior... He wins because of that shit.
The administration thing is what I thought was a clear Republican talking point indicator. It got a little muddled what I was talking about so sorry bout that.
Democratic administration sounds more correct than Democrat administration unless you're severely Fox News brained. I haven't ever heard anyone calling it a "Republic administration" which would sound just as wrong (and the wrongness is absolutely intentional IMO).
Yeah I guess before the full weight of the citizens united decision killed what was left we eaked out a bit of stuff.
The reality is, some people struggled to vote for Kamala, not because she is just as bad (she is obviously not) or because they were paid bad actor agents of the far right, but simply because, despite being the better of two options, she just wasnβt left enough to represent their views.
I hear this all the time on lemmy and reddit and other lefty bubble media despite seeing all of the time in reality that progressive candidates aren't very popular.
Harris ran as a strong progressive in 2020 and she was amongst the first candidates to exit that race. Bernie lost in a head to head matchup with a complete centrist, and Biden had way more people vote for him in the general than Harris did.
I voted for Bernie in 2020. People sat that primary out just like they sat out 2024 apparently. If there's all this massive support for progressive politicians in this country, I'd like to see some evidence of it.
My beef is with purported leftists online that did their damnedest to dissuade people from voting at all.
Reddit is still doing just fine.
