The only way to stop this is to stop working for the companies that do it. That's never gonna happen though, people gotta eat.

Have you watched Ponyo or Princess Mononoke? Those are pretty coherent throughout, the pacing is way better in those, and the writing is almost flawless.

They can't legally perform layoffs in Japan, but they can make it really lucrative for you to leave.
