Thank you for providing this, however when i now browse to pihole.mydomain.com it gives me a 404, and the URL is directed to pihole.mydomain.com/admin:8118. E.g. the port is somehow ending up at the end of the url haha.

Personally never had a problem finding what i needed for opensuse. Its easy to add repos via yast, plus opensuse you can use both zypper plus obs package managers, the latter being quite fast and easy to use. OpenSuse also has support for rpm packages, meaning anything meant for rhel/Fedora systems can also be installed on opensuse.

You can also view all installable packages here: https://software.opensuse.org/packages

If you feel TW is too fast on the release cycle you can also try Slowroll, which is TW but with a slower release cycle.

Nice write up, seems like you know what you are jumping into atleast. Personally would recommend to give Bazzite a try and not rule out immutables too quickly, nothing is more solid than these variants. If not immutable, then my best experience lies with Opensuse TW by far. Super stable, yet bleeding edge.

Could you supply a source for this?

Irongate in Sweede or Funcom in Norway, are two right off the top of my head.

Yeah I will do that, just wanted to chip in here first to see if it was just a me issue hehe.

Been finding some good deals on 2.5 disks lately, but have never bought one before. Have a couple of 3.5 disks on the other hand in my Unraid server. Wondering how much it matters wether I get a 2.5 or not? What form factor do you prefer/usually go for?

I've been using linux desktop for a year or so now. One noteable thing i keep seeing is that one person will say I dont like XYZ distrobution because of its base. But I am still a little unsure what is meant by it. I am assuming the main difference between each base is the choice of package management(?). But what other factors/aspects that are important for the average user to know about each 'base'? This is probably quite a broad question to a rather technical answer, but appriciate any answers, and i'll try my best to understand and read up :)

We've got one cat 6months and the other 3months old, currently both using the litterbox. However we're going to move to a new house soon, and eventually try to transition them to getting used to doing their business outdoors instead of the litterbox. Does anyone have any tips or best practices for this transition?

Edit: I dont live in the US, I live in Scandinavia - huge garden and away from traffic. The cats are fine being outside - most cats here are in fact outside. We have norwegian forest cats and they're meant to be both indoors and outdoors - even during winter!

It turned out really great and tasty! Was a little worried when making it as I didn't have everything the recipe asked for. As it wanted a loaf pan with a lid(?) Have never seen such, but it worked fine without 😊 A bit of a confidence boost tbh that it went so well for being the my first time. Look forward making more!

Hiya, am thinking about removing the stock android launcher on my Pixel 7a, due to a bug causing one of the three navigation buttons to randomly not work, more about the bug here; https://lemmy.world/post/10555733. So was wondering if anyone had any experience regarding this? I know how to remove it, just want to know what the potential consequences would be. I thought of having 2 launchers available, should the main one I use not work (for whatever reason). Please let me know if you have done this before and how it went :)

Hiya, so am looking to buy more storage and while browsing am seeing some external harddisks, such as Western Digital My Book and Seagate Expansion Desktop for cheaper than the internal harddisks themselves. Have seen this one video from KTZ Systems where he bought up multiple of these external ones just to open them up and use the disks for his own server. Was therefore wondering if you peeps have ever done this and if there any downsides to it at all?

Hi there, I'm on Bazzite KDE and recently somehow lost a my "gaming" folder..? No idea how but must gave been user faulty, e.g me. Therefore wondering if it's possible to lock certain folders so that this cannot accidentally happen?

Just adopted this little fella, welcome to the fam Sesam ! Was a bit afraid he wouldn't go well with our other kitten we already have, but 3 days in, they're already great friends, playing and sleeping together!

Waterfox is a browser, obviously based on Firefox, but without default "junk" that Firefox comes with.

Don't see many mentions to Waterfox at all in this community? Are there any specific reasons for it? Seems like a neat version of Firefox, with development based out of the UK.

Hi there folks, I'm still learning about Linux and have yet to dip my toes properly in any arch based distro. Have for the moment fallen in love with the immutable distros based on Universal Blue project. However I do want to learn about what arch has to offer to and plan on installing default arch when I have time. But have been wondering why I haven't heard of any immutable distros from arch based distros yet.

So, am left wondering if there are talks within that Arch community of building immutable distros?

While writing this post I found a project called Arkane Linux, which seem to be very interesting. Does anyone have nay experience with it? Is there a specific reason why immutable wouldn't be a good idea when based on Arch?

Hi there, I will be taking, Red Hat Certified System Administrator and Red Hat Certified Engineer Certifications after the summer and am looking for some worthwhile resources to learn from. Anyone have any recommendations for this? I will get access to some "offical" resources from my work later, but want to brush up - up front. So if anyone has any experience with some nice resources, or videoes that are worth checking out please let me know :)
