Either a handheld Or mobile yaesu vhf/uhf will do nicely. If you go the mobile route you will need a power supply and an antenna to go with it. An ed fong roll up will work for your situation. https://edsantennas.weebly.com/

That’s literally a bar rule. Lol. Alcohol makes people talk like they are on the internet in real life. Doesn’t make sense to discuss nuance when you’ve been drinking especially with the touchy subjects.
