Ahhhh, yess.... that sweet, sweet "firehose of random yet kind of important up to date information" feel that reddit has been missing. Now I randomly know that the US sold Poland a lot of weapons. Bless lemmy and this weird little community.

squints ...that sounds annoying. I honestly don't mind sponsors. It's a simple way for content creators to make money. I just ignore or skip.
I've been using Chrome with Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin for eons, now. Listening to youtube playlists without getting interrupted by ads is a real treat...
Oh man, I used to love this game. I adored the lore and gameplay, but fell off at Season of the Splicer, which is a damn shame because I LOVE the eliksini!! It was like that season was made for me. But I just got tired of the weekly chore list, and the need to "get my money's worth" for whatever season I bought. Story was locked behind these chores too. Just.. damn shame.
Elite: Dangerous.
If you want to enjoy it, you need to go in with lowered expectations and a certain frame of mine, lest you go mad grinding materials.
thinks about Clathrate Gun and starts sweating
Amazing.
Fan communities and general reddit. I've only ever used the web UI, so the API changes don't have as direct an effect on me, even if they suck. I doubt I'll ever abandon it completely. Adoring Lemmy so far, though! Looking forward to a nice, stable app to use in the future, since the web ui on lemm.ee is a little meh.
Oohh, here are the poppies! They're gorgeous!
Oh my gosh stained glass?? That's so cool!!
Thank you!! I just really love poppies, and I saw a lot of them when I went to Germany last month.
LOL you can definitely tell with this that I was trying different things. It's definitely an experiment, and I'm trying not to be too hard on myself where there are elements I'm not pleased with. I'm not sure what I want to do to tidy up the whitespace around the central whorl... but I do want to finish it up and add more elements!
It's been so much fun! I spend a lot of time in front of screens for work and play, so it's nice to have something creative to work on that's real. And I love all the colors! 😂
One thing I didn't expect is the hand pain, so I bought some compression gloves. Do you have any tips for ergonomics??
They ended up tweaking engineering to a point where its tolerable, and mining became so cool. Exploration too. Those two gameplay loops are great.
But the game was unplayable without third party tools. Which was kind of fun, having them open in a second monitor added to the immersion, but without them you're shit out of luck. Those tools were how I knew how to sell my mining stock. It was also how pirates knew where to blockade, which made for awesome emergent gameplay.
I'm bummed that space legs ended up being a buggy mess, because I wanted them real bad. Mostly I wanted to do an EVA in deep space, hanging off my ship, and enjoying the sound design. I never tried it because I heard the update did something weird to planets.
