Research shows that if you train AI on the output of other AI, there happens a "model collapse" where the AI makes more and more errors and distortions.

The same happened with tech bros.

No. It's basically like signing in at another e-mail provider. Instead of asdfasdfasdf@yahoo.com you now have asdfasdfasdf@hotmail.com and can from then on e-mail the same contacts. Just with posts, threads and comments instead of e-mail of course.

Gif, the jift that keeps on jivving.

You have to think of lemmy.world as your lemmy provider. Just like with e-mail you have your own email provider from the ISP, or gmail, or ... If your own provider is down, you can't receive or send mails, but all other people can send mails to each other. It's the same with lemmy, but then for reading posts and send comments to that instance/provider.

Because they're on lemdro.id as lemmy provider, not lemmy.world. That's the @ part in the user name.

It's not much better in the rest of the West too. Turns out that building a society where money and career determines your social status and doing unpaid work like taking care of a family and raising children is not valued at all and even very expensive makes people choose to have less or no children.

People of course do want children, but those that do very often will choose one or two children, below replacement rate.
