A diplomat's job is to manage relationships with a foreign entity. They have limited power in what they can actually do, but are invaluable in preventing misunderstandings and in forging alliances. Imagine it as a waiter, they will try their best to serve you but they won't be able to make the food taste good.

WebP was shoehorned in by Google through Chrome. Other browsers felt pressured to support it as to not be left behind. Other software didn't feel as pressured and is still resisting adding support to this day. Same thing with WebM.

An added benefit of the share button is that it generates a minified link – "https://youtu.be/abcde" instead of "https://youtube.com/watch?v=abcde". I find it neater.

They didn't until a few weeks/months ago on the web version. Not sure about mobile. I noticed when the generated links became twice as long.

Different advice for different goals. If your goal is to survive, you want your vitals to be protected. If you want others to survive, might as well use your muscle and fat to absorb some of the kinetic energy.
