You may want to look into a condition called EoE also known as Eosinophilic esophagitis. If that's the problem, you'll certainly want to see your doctor.

Like everything in this world, I think it's situation dependent.

I traveled for work, and would live out of a hotel room for 4-5 weeks at a time. I have a gaming laptop that doesn't fit in the bin while going through TSA. Always got comments about it. But damn, if I didn't love setting it up in my hotel room and leaving it there during my tour and being able to play some games during my evenings.

It was WELL worth it!

I would start by asking my question over at explainlikeimfive@lemmy.world

If you're out of the loop, the Sweet Pea Festival organization commissioned an artist to carve the remains of a tree which (I think) was struck by lightning.

This is the carving they made! It's absolutely gorgeous and well worth the trip over to view it in person!

I'm personally worried that in time, some of the more fragile parts are going to break off, like the Big Horn Sheep's Horn. Here's to hoping it gets a nice life though!

It's fun running spot. But man, the sound sucked up there. I don't think it's always the case, but Jelly Roll didn't have any upfacing speakers, so all the sound I got was super garbled. Oh well, the view made up for it.

This is a great take.

This cat is a purring machine! She was only available for adoption at the shelter for one day. The staff knew she'd be picked quickly.

But yes, winning at life. I read somewhere you should record their purr so you've always got it.

I've always been a dog person, but she's worming her way into my heart regardless!

I got to operate Spot Light for the Jelly Roll concert! Gave me a great high view!

Nothing more than it’s widely accepted

Well, what's wrong with Bitcoiners trying to make their currency widely accepted too?

that it’s backed by yet another widely accepted from of currency

So it's turtles all the way down, is what you're saying?

(usually; gold)

Not the USD, which is the worlds most widely accepted currency.

This is all gross-oversimplification, I realize, and I don’t particularly want to get into the weeds on this topic, because it’s only of passing interest to me.

Yes, I agree that this is gross-oversimplification. But if you don't want to get into the weeds, why make a claim about something you don't understand and don't have interest in?

What is this "real" money you speak of? What makes it real?

Shouldn't it be one of those "OK" symbols. You know, the "Made you look" game where you create an OK symbol with your hand below your waist.

On the computer thread, changing the keys on their keyboard is also fun. Works better if they are a touch typist as well, as they may go several hours/days before noticing, until they have to look for that one special key. :)

In all seriousness, there is a radio lab episode out there talking about tiny black holes. Apparently, they might be all over the universe, and can sometimes hit earth, create a massive crater that has no meteorite debris, exit the other side of earth, and could be an explanation for all the dark matter around the universe!

It was a really fascinating episode, and I highly recommend giving it a listen!

I'm starting to create managed user accounts for my two daughters on plex. They are 7 and 4, so movies I'm giving them access to consist mostly of Pixar/Disney type stuff. Well, when I log into their users, it has recently added movies and TV shows, which show appropriatle the things I've given access to from my server. But below those it has "Binge Worthy Shows" "Plex Picks" "Summer Lovin'" and a few others which are all hosted "(on plex)" It even is advertising "The Marksman" right now, which is a guy holding a shotgun on the cover.

Is there a way to turn off those (on plex) suggestions so it ONLY shows the movies that exist on my server? Ideally I could just turn off those suggestions on a user basis as well.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Had to take a detour on the way home to get a better view of this! Wasn't disappointed!
