Reduce carb portions and replace with larger veggie portions, and understand that corn and potatoes and other starch vegetables are just carbs (but it seems like you already know that). You may need larger protein portions in your meals to feel more full, and that's fine if your choosing lean proteins, which it seems like you already are.

Don't be afraid of having fat in your diet, just avoid overly greasy stuff like too much fried food.

Overall, you'll probably be fine to do what you're doing, but stop insisting on having a ton of bread. Just control your portions, limit bread, and be conscious of how much sugar you're actually eating in a day because that shit is in pretty much everything. If you're rarely eating out and rarely eating processed crap like TV dinners and rarely drinking calories and rarely reaching for sweets and snacks, then you're gonna do great! It takes a shitload of jogging to undo even a modest treat. Having two double stuff oreos sets you back 140 calories, which will probably take you about a mile and a half to work off. If you ask me, oreos just ain't fucking worth it lol.

Filled with jolly ranchers.

Welp, better late than never.

I would love to be proven wrong, but I'm not sure there's anything in our wildest dreams that could snap anybody in his base out of their trance at this point. What line is there that he hasn't already crossed?

Too clever for such a stupid man to come up with. Your throwaway joke while taking a shit is beyond his capabilities.

Maybe it's a generational divide or something, but I would lose my fucking mind if my partner for life were braindead enough to support trump. Maybe Clinton v Dole was just a more reasonable thing to disagree with your spouse about (idk, I wasn't there, and I don't care enough to look into it, don't @ me), but a disagreement in 2024 fundamentally is about democracy v fascism, helping people v hurting people, and decency v shameless petulance. A politically split household in 2024 is not a team or a partnership in any meaningful way. Just fucking get a divorce already because you've clearly married the wrong person! There's absolutely no fucking way I could cohabitate with, let alone share a bed with somebody who wants women, children, immigrants, minorities, LGBTQ+ people, and poor people to be punished in every aspect of life for not being financially comfortable, straight, white, cis men. Truly incomprehensible. "But taxes! But gas prices!" No. Just no. You're clearly not actually paying attention if you think that literally anything would be better for you under trump. There would be short term gains at the expense of long term collapse, just like what happened when you gave him the keys last time.

And I don't mean you specifically. Just the rhetorical "you" for anybody it would apply to.

Don't forget that stupid ear bandage they wore for like a week. It was the irl equivalent of changing your profile picture in solidarity and putting zero actual effort into changing anything. Then he took his stupid bandage off, revealing nothing interesting, and the world collectively forgot about him milking an assassination attempt since there have been 20 bigger stories in the time since. Isn't that wild? Somebody shooting at a former president who is a major party nominee running for reelection is just an "oh yeah..." footnote kind of story when talking about what happened in 2024.

How are trump supporters and undecided voters not just exhausted from all of this? Don't they just want a quiet weekend for once? Life is just so much more pleasant when you're not constantly provoked into being angry over dumb shit all the damn time.

Don't forget to make them report for frequent random drug tests too. As we all know, people who struggle with addiction don't deserve help. /s

Do we know for certain that Brandon isn't II?

Those only come on the 21st of September

But I grew up and learned these things

How dare you learn and grow as a person over time through experiences. /s

Real talk though, good for you. "I was wrong" is never said by way too many people these days. Admitting to having been wrong is the first step to learning what's right.

Sharply agreed. My wife and I both work a lot and don't have kids or even any pets (yet) and it's insane to think that there was a time just a short while ago that one person with a high school diploma could work 40 hour weeks and it would cover a mortgage, two cars, multiple kids, and still have money for savings and modest vacations. DINK couples in their 30s like us are finally catching up to the average 20 somethings with a few kids of 40 years ago.

Shit has changed. And as a result, I think that pro-choice should mean much more than just access to contraception and abortion. Pro-choice should mean that it's possible to choose to have children too, as in childcare and diapers and everything shouldn't be so prohibitively expensive that only the top 10% earners should have the flexibility for a pregnancy to be a blessing and not a life-shattering burden. If conservatives want babies to be born, they're going about it all wrong.

My wife and I have been using Cozi for years to manage our work schedules, plan dates, block off personal time, and manage grocery lists and to-do lists. There has been some pretty egregious enshittification through locking more and more essential features behind a paywall and now it's altering times for some reason and straight up losing list items and calendar entries. I'm done. Its only function was to maintain calendar items and lists so I wouldn't need to manually remember everything; it's worthless if I can't trust it to remember for me.

So now we're looking for a replacement tool to manage our family. FOSS preferred, but not required. I'm even open to using two separate apps for it, one for calendar and another for lists. We just need them to live online so we can independently add to it while the other person is asleep or at work.

I'm hoping that somebody else has already done the legwork to find the best option?

It's the last weekend of the season. Anybody looking to go for broke in ranked to see what's possible with fewer inhibitions?

I'm on PS5 in NoVA and bouncing around low Diamond. If you rotate properly, I'll forgive every whiff.

Whether it's a club name, club tag, or tournament name, what are some interesting names you've used or seen?

My friends and I recently played a tournament and somehow won with the name Socialist Jiu Jitsu. Our club name is Aunt Tifa. We used the club tag [BLM] for a while, but the amount of racism in the text chat was exhausting, so now it's just [ANTI]. It was pretty entertaining to get people tilted and then silently dunk on them, but the toxicity wasn't fun most of the time.

Nobody ever laid on their death bed wishing they had worked more.

Breathe clean air. Enjoy sunlight. Eat fresh produce. Be a free human when you can.

BEWARE OF POTENTIAL SPOILERS IN COMMENTS!

I played The Forgotten City for free via PS+ Extra and it's one of my all-time favorite gaming experiences! I urge anybody who hasn't played it yet but is remotely interested to not look up a goddamn thing about this game beyond this blurb of mine (because spoilers are easy to stumble upon) and play it ASAP!

What is it? It started as a Skyrim mod developed by a lawyer who wanted to make something that's less of a game per se and more of an interactive story that delves into philosophical quandaries like the nature of morality. It's a first person game where you go to an island and wind up in an ancient city of sorts. There's a kind of groundhog day element to it and you have to figure out how to stop that from happening. It's a bit of a mystery, but nearly all of the gameplay is running around and talking to various characters, all of whom have unique personalities. It's like a really robust Fallout New Vegas mission, but without all the combat. You'll probably get through it in 20-40 hours.

Okay, now that that's outta the way, who wants to rant or gush about this little game?
