So Egypt, which already has massive financial problems, gets a massive loan from Russia to built a nuclear power plant. Why do I get the feeling like this could turn into a giant disaster with Western sanctions and all.

Getting rid of the electoral college would not solve spoiler candidates necessarily. For that you would need to replace it with ranked voting or multiple rounds. Would still be a good idea, as the college just means presidents caring a lot more about swing states.

In Germany you only have to use a crosswalk, if it is within 30m of where you want to cross, or 40m in case of a traffic light. Otherwise you can cross wherever you want. Obviously you got to do so in a safe manner.

It is used only as a diplomatic passport for EU representatives. Unlike with a normal French passport, you get diplomatic immunity, to walk through border checkpoints without being searched and so forth.

Why would you join the army to leave Russia? Most of the borders are open. That is safer then going into a warzone.

Germany has the second lowest public spending to gdp in the EU. Only Irelands is lower and Irelands GDP is overstate due to tech companies. At the same time the German government has an amazing credit rating and a lot of investment oppurtunities in the green transition and infrastructure.

The only thing Germany has to do, is to borrow some money and spent it somewhat well. Right now debt to gdp is falling during economic problems, so borrowing can very easily done sustainably.

That would also improve the mood in the country, which is highly important.

Because trade is a thing and protecting the weakest also protects the slightly better of. That is to say, if migrant workers can not be exploited neither can German workers.

And yes that includes helping workers in other countries.

Even if you adjust for that countries like France, Spain and Sweden have lower emissions. However the EU as a whole is 10% above China. Then again the data is from 2021 so they probably are about equal nowadays.

No, but they are trying to reach Prokorvsk, which recently got reinforced by Ukraine, which was badly needed.

Actually the shift started with the oil crisis. That stopped most tram demolition and ended up with west German cities improving their tram systems with tunnel sections, new lines, better trams and so forth. You can see that in the number of old tram systems in West Germany, besides having closed a lot of them. As a comparison in 1980 France had three operating tram systems, the UK had one and Italy five.

Also the car free sundays had a massive cultural impact leading to pedestrian zones. Also the demolition of buildings for wider streets was mostly stopped. It also saw quite a lot of cycling paths being added.

RT is not bannd, but sanctioned due to being fully owned by the Russian government. The content they produce is not illegal, but US companies are not allowed to work with them. Stripe just wants to avoid problems and bsas them, due to Blinken claiming they are connected. That does not have to be true, but it pretty much gurantees legal trouble for Stripe, if they keep them as clients.

But also they are clearly professionals. Most employees having worked for Russian, Chinese, Iranian or Venezuelan state media is a clear sign. It also makes a direct connection to RT much more likely. So I get why Stripe wants to get far away from this.
