Netflix. Price hikes with lesser content that no one in my house wants to watch. Subcriptions for occasional use stuff been purged since that.

There's one little sign when you come out the tyne tunnel i think. Very easy to miss. Catches locals out as well who are casual users

Looking at the witness mark on the wall, i think it originally did

No matter the heat source. Step one needs to be insulating our homes to reduce the requirement for heating and make some work anyway. Especially heat pumps.

Why doesn't the UK gov have a clear strategy for this? Leaving it to the homeowner in a cost of living crisis and with increasing mortgage costs means the vast majority cant do it alone

Interesting link thanks. Not seen this ratio quoted before. Although it states its a meta analysis so may not fully translate. But definately food for thought, pun intended

Too many generalisations made about vegan v meat eating alternative land use i feel. Dont doubt any of the studies but the assumption that you can flip land use from animal farming to other agriculture isn't always that straight forward as the land and environment isn't always suitable.

Maybe coordinated land use optimization based on local enviroment and food provision would be a more sensible approach.

Yeah so many people are guna be in the same boat. No chance of getting mine up to standard now without some heavy grants. Its a 1950's ex council house an designed to be heated by a central fire

My boilers on its last legs so had a bit research on HP etc. Would love to fully electricify and get rid of the gas. Basically i need to spend thousands upgrading my insulation etc 1st before i could even think of spending the fortune needed on the HP itself. I don't see how its doable without solar panels and a battery tbh.

In the end its worked out cheaper to install a wood stove in the front room as a stop gap as I get the money together to upgrade everything needed. Which tbh might never happen now all my cash has been drained away to nothing on energy bills and cost of living. Plus mortgage interest rates.

So my glorious vision of a more economical and eco friendly home has seen me turn medieval instead due to crippling finances

Crack on Reddit I'm Done Anyways.

I was mainly a lurker on reddit with only occasional posting. But I'm done with it anyway now. Always felt a little uneasy as it was like the last social media 'product' i consumed after purging all other mainstream ones.

This latest drama has just shown the company management of a single website is making changes in view of its own profits. I thought i was a user but maybe I'm a customer. But have no interest in that. I'm free now.

Think I'll float about the fediverse for a while. This is 1st post so might not actually work ha
