It's not stolen, it's 'stolen'.

Try Card View Switcher. It's combined with search so you don't get overwhelmed if you have thousands of files in your vault.
I can second this. Digital systems always felt like I was managing the system somehow, whatever it was. They always felt delicate, as if I had to do things a certain way. Paper journaling over the last couple of years has felt so much easier by comparison. I was going through my to-do list yesterday and I just suddenly realised I wasn't even thinking about the system - I was just doing the work. I still work within Obsidian - my resources and annotations and notes are all still in there - but the basics of 'knowing what to do next' are on paper again.
I mean, they're kinda right. Taking money out of society to give to the rich isn't socialism.

Same here. Really hoping the non-lemmy-focus communities can start to get more active now that the commotion is settling down a bit.
Delay for long enough and it might not happen
I use folders and tags for organisation (Auto Note Mover puts my notes where I want them based on how I tag them. But I use AutoMOC to make a big list of connections that I then reorganise into categories. It's a really good way to make sense of things after I've built up a good bank of ideas on a topic. But I don't use them for navigation; I'd much rather go through search or quick switcher.
It's a disgrace - but only because the system is so messed up. I'm old enough to own my own house but my kids probably never will unless they live with me well into their 30s and save like crazy. My generation and those before me have screwed up the housing market.
