Finally Alf-Life 2. I was going we’d get a sequel for our cat eating alien roommate.

Yeah. When the early PS3 controllers did it everyone agreed it was stupid and eventually they made the DualShock 3.

Got it. Show up 1:10 into it and leave after 10 minutes.

Smol Mac Pro would have been the best possible reality here.

Small RISC-V cores are weirdly all over the place. I think NXP and some others have a RISC-V core inside some of their ARM cores as their security coprocessors and other peripherals. The architecture is getting around it’s just not hitting much toward the application processor yet. It’s getting there but running a full on PC is such a complex task over micros or special purpose devices.

Is it decent on steam deck? I heard a while back that it wasn’t a good experience so I have held off. Otherwise I’ve had my eye on it but a bit apprehensive.

Yeah I played so much pre 1.0 but never really got around to it after release. I knew how much I would be addicted if I really got into it again so I never really got around to it. I really need to get some time to try the base game as released before doing this expansion. But man, I really want to.

It would be nice if you can use handlebar controls rather than have to remove hands and touch it.

Also people using handle mounts for phones have found that some phones break due to the vibrations. Modern phone cameras seem particularly susceptible to breaking since they have tiny little mechanisms to move the lenses and so much vibration can shake them to death. So it’s better to be able to keep your phone in your pocket where that gets dampened.

Also to promote a sense of community and close cooperation we’re moving to an open office plan. (I.e. packed in like sardines to glorified picnic tables with hot seating and noise everywhere.)

My understanding is that x86 originated from Intel and x86-64 was an extension of it by AMD who had been licensing x86. They agreed to trade so neither paid to license one from the other. So Intel got to use x86-64 because they let AMD have free use of x86. As a result they both keep anyone else from using x86. And of course now a days x86-64 is the only one that really matters. Presumably another company getting involved like Qualcomm would mess up that old deal.

I want that chair. Probably uncomfortable but that’s some sweet evil vibes going on for a zoom call.

Yeah I’d love a modern stream machine kinda Deck plugged into a TV.

For now PlayStation is nicer for TV where I can get better performance from the couch with quick resume and all. If I could get a static Deck without portable power consumption limits and decent output on a 4K display that would be ideal. But right now the Deck works docked but when blown up to TV size so many games are a low rez mess. If we could get a proper SteamOS that I could install into a media center PC I’d make it myself. All I’d hope for then is a second gen Steam Controller.
