So software is running on your car that desprately tries to extract and sent your peronal information to its command and control server.

I was going to say "be stingy with access to the OBD / CAN port" but if wireless is involved then avoid the beacon (its wireless and tucked away in a corner so you dont know if its there) or get your data stolen. I feel violated.

If you ever want to know how many apps use gapps on your phone, android apps with the hook have a "google play services avalability" notification channel, ive seen the settings app spam me notifications about its longing for gapps.

Windows is imfamous for a do-it-yourself install process, they are likely using their own deployment tools. If anything, criticize them for not helping the update process at all.

This is appeal to authority, the ligitimicy, correctness and, "goodness" of the items you've listed are in constant flux and under heavy dibate.

firearms are regulated ... Even internet access is super controlled

These two in particular are a powder keg. US politics likes the former (a lot) and, lemmy is attracted to the latter.

My guess is that they looked at their screen reader API, saw that it wasnt 100% of the text on screen and said fuck it! Were using OCR!

It feels like this was intended for buisnesses to monitor for phrases on your screen like "coolmath games unblocked free"

or to extract and upload a summary of what happened every second of every day to the server defined in the group policy.

Im seeing (in liftoff from world) a "banned" flare on a lot of posts lately. Is it applied to members because of their instance being banned or is that not possable?
