I haven't used Reddit since the protest began aside from dropping a pinned post on my profile linking to my profile on Kbin. I've seen this movie before and I know how it plays out. Reddit won't go away any time soon, but it's going to be slowly hollowed out while most of the active users migrate to Lemmy/Kbin. I have no doubt in my mind that this community has enough tailwind at this point to thrive.

The more they screw up the more friends we gain here. All are welcome!
I love it too but I can't figure out how to filter out all the German language stuff. I'm basically blocking magazines one by one and there's still so much of it. Why the heck is there so much filtering up?
This is tremendously helpful thanks for posting!
You can tell this isn't Trump because of the use of proper spelling and grammar. I'd toss in a few run on sentences to really make it look real.
Wasn't a fail to me. I moved on from Reddit after 12 years of daily activity. I'm happily settling into Kbin now.
I've never understood anyone gatekeeping things they like. Wouldn't you want to date someone who is into the things you're into? I think it's changing with younger generations, but when I grew up I remembered hearing the same guys saying they wish they could date a woman who is into Star Wars and video games, but then would gatekeep any woman they met who was into those things as if they are just faking it.
I wouldn't say currently because I deleted it after moving to Kbin, but I was using RIF for as long as it existed and was a daily Reddit user for over 12 years. I've been happy using Kbin though this past week and have quickly seen subreddits migrating over and a lot more activity just in the past few days.
This community seems to have grown exponentially over the past 4 days. I'm super confused by your observation.
I am struggling to go and do it myself but this helps seeing someone with 12 years of history. Would love to be able to download the 10,000+ pages of stuff I wrote though to not lose it forever.
The Kbin app changes everything for me. I'm now perfectly comfortable here and have zero need to go back to Reedit.
It reminds me of what Reddit felt like in the early days, except it feels more diverse and inclusive. It's kind of the perfect world of what I'd hoped Reddit could become.
