I stand corrected!

I agree. I'm not trying to say no one made art in 10000 bc. I'm just saying the opportunities became more abundant for people to focus most of their time in life on it in more recent times.

I love Turtle WoW! It feels like one of the last MMOs that really encourage working with other players

I'm not an expert on the subject, but i didn't see anyone else mention time as a factor. For a long time humans were simply too busy trying to survive. Once civilizations started coming around along with extremely wealthy and powerful people, then more time for leisure, art, and science came. Some of the extremely wealthy people of the past hired artists, mathematicians, scientists, musicians, etc to just live with them and study full time. The expectation was that they would share their work.

We loved hot dog weiners in the Kraft dinner, which is a fair approximation because we couldn't afford KD back then. Ground pepper, and also ketchup when we could afford to be fully blasphemous.

KD

Is this you?

I agree with you there. I've personally found it very interesting to try new programs and figure out each one's layout and work flow, but I've found many people absolutely hate doing that. I get it, if you want to just use the product for what it's intended for maybe you don't want to waste time learning the differences. All of that in consideration, I don't think gimp is that bad

It used to be way worse. I first tried gimp 10ish years ago and instead of the program running from a single window it was like the canvas, the hierarchy tree, and every other toolbox had its own separate window. I think they updated that a while ago now.

I'm in a class right now that requires a DMR locked live service textbook. I can only access it as long as I am connected to the internet. I live where 2 back to back hurricanes just hit so I expected to not have power or internet and wanted to copy some of the text from the textbook into a txt file. However, the DRM detects the copy/paste usage and limits the ability to only copy like 100 words. After a quick search I found out the dumb-asses that created this textbook site put all of the text in tags in the plain html doc.

I didn't mention in my original post but the company only hires within, meaning that every single person within the company started at an entry level position, many of them did operate pallet jacks. Every suit that did come and pretend to look like they were working hard did do that job at one point. I think that's what made it even more infuriating to me

[–] DrSteveBrule@mander.xyz 7 points 2 weeks ago

I should've mentioned in my original post that Publix is a hires within company. Everybody including the current CEO started at an entry level position. Obviously no one person knows how to do everything, but all the top level employees ran their own department before running their own store, district, region, etc. Obviously I'm biased, my feelings toward the company are less than favorable after working there. It was just irritating to see someone who has made millions but somehow has the time to run to various stores and kick people off of bagging duty so they can pretend to look like down to earth upper management. It was my first hand experience to seeing just how unnecessary certain corporate positions really are

I came across a facebook post criticizing the character model of Angela from the new Silent Hill 2 Remake. Thousands of people liked the post which called the model of the remake ugly and less feminine. The character is a teenager and victim of sexual assault...
