Try thinking of it like the United States. Each instance (lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, kbin, beehaw, etc) is its own separate βstateβ with its own rules and regulations.
This isn't the best example, american states basically have to play with the same rules for the most part, and can't leave the union. keeping the analogu, the closest one could be the EU I think, especially with the Beehaw situation.
There's a remake of Crest of the Stars manga that gets updated once every 1 or 2 years.
I don't know if it's still running or not. But damm i loved the concept and visual style. There's also some books, and old anime and the original manga but I'm somewhat afraid of consuming them at this point.
