This sucks (Was it really costing much money to run?) but as long as Firefox continues to work with full-flavor ublock I'm happy.

Why are they angry? Are you providing evidence in your comments or just ranting?

It's centralized and for-profit. They will have to do ads eventually or shut down.

That's the user downvoting the copy of the post on their own instance. If OP doesn't have downvotes then those votes won't federate.

exactly. the only kind of self expression anyone needs is going on lemmy and making smug comments.

My sad take is that I felt like I noticed a shift in the opinions of fandom after that infamous Red Letter Media review in 2012. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love those reviews and think they're hilarious, but a lot of Redditors (and Lemmy-ers) seemed to look at the Plinkett character as someone worth emulating instead of despising.

Not to people with a financial interest in promoting Monero.

Generations is one of my favorites. Frequently underrated, imo. I honestly might place it above First Contact but I love all of Gene's children equally.

Until Disco S3, "Living witness" was the furthest future we had seen in Star Trek. But Academy takes place after Discovery. At the end of "Living Witness" the Doctor is described as heading towards Earth.

Assuming the burn didn't get them, it's entirely possible two EMHs are surviving in Discovery's time. I think it would be a fun twist if it wasn't the EMH we expect!

This was mentioned elsewhere but I thought it was cool enough to deserve it's own post. The artist is Dusty Abell and they are selling copies on their website here: https://www.dustyabell.com/products/star-trek-doctor-who-friendship-is-universal-print

I think this is a good incentive for Journalists to be more active on the fediverse.
