They didn't even release the first one that long ago. This feels like it should be a "next gen" update and not a full-blown sequel, but I guess they probably need to recover costs from hiring all the voice actors and redoing all the graphics.

I feel like this should just be an update to the first version. Just make V2 available to everyone who got V1 and discontinue sales of the first
The first seemed kind of meh. What does this need to complete more competitively with SSB?
@Rouxibeau @slimerancher By this point almost nothing can compete with SSB in that genre.
Well, yeah, but you can still create you own niche in the genre.
Personally, with Mario Kart and Smash, I don't need to buy any other games in these genres, but there's a still place for these games, specially if you like the characters. For instance, if they release PlayStation All Star 2, I would love to try that.
@slimerancher Oh, absolutely! I'd love another PASBR if they ever release that, but based on content, refined gameplay and just sheer fandom, I think it'd be almost impossible to compete directly with SSB
Yeah, no arguments on that! SSB is a class on it's own.
Make it Free to play. A multi-platform, free to play game. It won't be competing directly with SSB, but more with Brawlhalla, which seems to be doing pretty good for itself.
Isn't that what Multiverses is doing?
Yeah, and people were really excited for it. Don't know what happened to it. I think they have removed it and gone back to work on it more. Also, it was never released in Asia. If you were in Asia, you just couldn't play it.
