A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

When we sleep, we are technically half-dead. So, wouldn't it be safe to say that everyone currently living has died many times?

No, consciousness =/= life.

You're comparing apples with walnuts

When we sleep, we are technically 100% alive.

Petite mort, translated from French, means β€œlittle death”, and is generally used as a euphemism for orgasm.

Some of us have died... a lot.

Someone has just died multiple times.

But like, tiny. For some of us multiple tiny deaths in rapid succession.

Nah.
You're just taking liberties with your misinterpretations.
Tho that is fun to do, so nothing wrong with discussing it.

My method for resolving this would be : Monitor your heart rate and breathing, monitor the heart rate and breathing of a dead person, if they match then sure.

If you adjusted your analogy to unconsciousness, and compared sleep to something near death, like a coma, braindead person, or something else (idk I'm not knowledgeable about medical stuff) then I think that conversation could go interesting places.

Good question tho.

When you sleep you could be half dead in any sense you want except for technical. You are technically alive when you sleep.

Orgasm in French = petite mort = small death

Some people die several times per day. Just saying.
