β€žWe have a technical issue, we ran out of blue paint so we need to retire the car.β€œ

β€žBut your car is red?β€œ

β€žyes, so we cannot run the car without the blue paint.β€œ

Can I print this black & white document even though I am out of yellow ink?

We are checking.

Fred this winter:

I'm happy we could come to an agreement Adrian, let me just print your contract and... What ze fuck? Yellow ink low?

[–] SatouKazuma@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

There's a meme somewhere that has a guy trying to print a black and white doc, and the printer says "No. Fuck you. Low on cyan."

Oh, and don't forget the ink cartridge DRM that HP implements. Fuck 'em.

As far as terrible sponsors go HP's anti-consumer bullshit seems almost tolerable when compared to Big Oil, cancer sticks and the rest. Isn't the advertising industry simply lovely.

Oh it's fantastic. -10/10 wouldn't recommend to literally anyone or anything in any universe, ever.

Should have gone with the ink-subscription Fred. After all, it's only 50 bucks per month...

Did Ferrari put a debit card on file with hp? Otherwise, the car might not start.

Had to pay for Hamilton somehow.

[–] FrostyTrichs@sh.itjust.works 17 points 6 months ago

Suddenly I'm no longer interested in the blue features of the livery.

Why did they insist on using the blue HP logo instead of the monochrome one? It would have looked way better in white!

[–] The_one_and_only@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 months ago

I would guess because this stands out more.

HP is not paying a huge amount of money just to go unnoticed.

I thought the Ferrari name would be sacred enough to not add a sponsor to, but I guess they had to swallow their pride on this one! Shame it’s such a shitty company with a shitty logo!

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 9 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I mean, they were "Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow" a few seasons ago when PMI had the title sponsorship. At least this time around it sounds better than that.

But that was so they could skirt the rules and still smoke. Ferrari's engine just can't be bothered to show up for the race if they can't smoke while going around the track.

I don't see what's the big deal is. Everyone still going to call them just "Ferrari".

Why use the blue logo?

[–] Atin@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Why twice on the front of their race suits?

[–] hal_5700X@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Because HP is paying 66% of the cost cap. If they up it to 80%. HP would've gotten one more shot on the suits.

Stands out more

They're making that much from shitty printersβ€½

[–] Entropywins@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Ink cartridges...

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 3 points 6 months ago

I think their ink is the most valuable liquid in the world or something like that.

[–] _ed@sopuli.xyz 1 points 6 months ago

They need to add at least two more names to it or they’re not taking it seriously
