I really want a tomboy gf, but I guess I'll have to take one for the team.

[–] Butters@lemmywinks.com 5 points 1 year ago

Thanks buddy. Only one of us has to pick the right.

Notice how it says nothing about Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. So nothing of value is lost.

[–] Inq@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago (3 children)

what happens if you're english but want a tomboy gf? :(

[–] oatscoop@midwest.social 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No problem! Since you're in the EU and part of the Schengen Area you can easily cross the border to a neighboring country to live and work before accepting the deal.

... oh, nevermind.

He can still go to Ireland passport free

[–] Inq@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

She, though you're not wrong. ROI still tends to be a dangerous place w/ its anti-british sentiment.

The whole universe disappears into a Hawkinhole.

[–] Dasnap@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wanna disappear into Hawking's hole 😳

[–] kingthrillgore@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Soul not hole!

Nothing too bad, actually. I think you will quite enjoy the 3 milliseconds with your tomboy gf before disappearing.

[–] CaptainLemmit@feddit.it 7 points 1 year ago

[–] cuchilloc@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

We were some horrible bastards back in the day.

It's quite cool though, seeing as realistically we're tiny and still achieved all the things we did.

[–] NuPNuA@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

I mean yeah, but excusing Scotland and Wales participation in the Empire is just historical revision.

[–] 30isthenew29@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What country’s next, the Netherlands?

[–] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just give it a few years and the Netherlands will be underwater anyway, so there's no need to pick that over a tomboy gf

[–] 30isthenew29@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You know who you’re talking to, right? If it wasn’t for our mastery of water, we wouldn’t have about half the land we do have. We’ll be fine.

[–] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 year ago

Nederland, Europe's largest dry dock.

[–] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 4 points 1 year ago

Well yeah, you have Sjoerd Groeskamp, the guy who designed a 160km dam between France and England and a 475km one between Scotland and Norway to protect everything from Norway to the Netherlands against rising sea levels. You win this time, Netherlander.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

What has England done? Am Iissing something?

[–] Anangrierterrarian@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Its England, that should clear things up

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh, I see, that makes sense. Thanks angry Terrarian.
