Wait till he hears how many revolutions for a cd player! Or if you really want to get him going, a hard drive!

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 38 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Not even CIA-infested Central and South America could do 10,000 revolutions per minute.

[–] phdepressed@sh.itjust.works 10 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Cia infested South America plus middle east and Africa?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Getting there..

[–] Socsa@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 months ago

No, not like that. The only moral revolution is my revolution.

Workers of the world, unite in dance! It's the real Dance Dance Revolution.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Nah that’s Goldman not Marx

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

No, it's pretty definitively Marx. Plus, this post specifically calls out Karl Marx by name, not Goldman.

I fail to see what Emma Goldman has to do with this post at all.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago (2 children)

She has a very famous quote about not wanting any revolution without dancing.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 months ago

Oh, I see it now! Haha, fair point!

[–] BautAufWasEuchAufbaut@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Wasn't that misattributed/fake?

[–] rambling_lunatic@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 months ago

It's paraphrased but she said roughly the same thing.

Leon Scott invented his fonoautograph in 1860, Marx died in 1883. This could have happened

[–] Sombyr@lemmy.zip 8 points 6 months ago

According to the quantum mechanical totalitarian principle, everything not forbidden is compulsory, so it must have happened. It's physics.

[–] Socsa@sh.itjust.works 23 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Some might even call it continuous revolution

This is my first time hearing about this band, and holy shit it’s so good

[–] anarchrist@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 months ago

I finally saw them live last year after being a fan for a long time and they did not disappoint!

[–] Edlak@lemmy.world 16 points 6 months ago (3 children)

I had to Google Karl Marx and record players before I got it. I am not a smart man.

[–] tfw_no_toiletpaper@lemmy.world 23 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Did you have to look up minute too?

[–] yuri@pawb.social 2 points 6 months ago

so condescending

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Im surprised there are people on lemmy on who havent memorized all the works of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

To be fair, Reddit is regularly shedding liberals. Lemmy takes some and radicalizes some of those.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

But others keep trying to tip their landlords and praising themselves for seeing both sides

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 months ago

Yep, the liberalism rate lowers but never reaches 0. Lemmy.world is basically Reddit 2.

Karl Marx was a political theorist who prioneered Marxism. One of his best known works is The Communist Manifesto. So he was pushing for a communist revolution.

And record players revolve to play music.

[–] KingThrillgore@lemmy.ml 12 points 6 months ago

There was never going to be one final revolution, old man

[–] BabyVi@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

[–] Maultasche@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago
