/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ **8. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Because Cochrane got into bar fights and stole copper? ...I guess I could see that lol.

Possible he'd have needed materials for his ship. Plus barfights are sorta the norm for him.

We're really behind schedule if we're supposed to have FTL by now. We haven't even started eugenics projects...

we’re supposed to have FTL by now.

59 more years. We still got a 3rd world war to get through.

Yeah, we're supposed to be getting some civil rights/workers rights riots riots right about now. Wanna help?

I thought the original enterprise was from the 90's

Dont worry, some years ago there was a mid-sized scandal where the chinese allegedly experimented with gene editing embryos to make them smarter. We never hear about those things any more, that must mean they surely gave up on the idea, right? Right?

I wonder if that's how they're suddenly innovating instead of just stealing everyone else's IP. They must have super babies in the design department!

[–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Actually there was an article just a few days ago that said the doctor who was working on it was proud of his work and planned to continue.

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 2 points 7 months ago

See, we are right on schedule then. Though i think we have to do ww3 first, then the eugenics wars after.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

We haven't even started eugenics projects...

Either I have some reading to do or I get to smash some rose tinted glasses so hey, my day is looking up

That's the genius of the Cochrane genes .... they live long enough to make offspring but not enough to have a long life

[–] blahsay@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Wait reg is actually related?

[–] kellyaster@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

No, it was a gag, in honor of First Contact Day. However, they are both are kind of a hot mess in their own way, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to me.
