Having grass lawns in the desert is as stupid as it is ugly. Planting a bunch of native plants is always going to look better and be easier to maintain.

Living in the desert has always made me question the sanity of the person. You are made out of water. Why would you go to a place that doesn't have enough of it? It isn't like there is a substitute. Like if I can't get bread I can just eat rice. If I can't get water I can ummm.
While I agree with you another problem is that people plant things that are not native to the dessert and they bring all the crappy allergens with them. The dearest used to be a place your doctor would send you if you had severe allergies but now in combination with all of Arizona’s dust it’s one of the worst places for allergies.
Dearest Desert,
I write you today with a heavy heart, longing for the past. Do you remember the times we had nary a sneeze? Oh how I yearn for those days.
Always and forever yours, -ScrotumNipples
Now do golf courses as well
Not gonna happen. That might slightly inconvenience the rich.
Oh no! Them poor poor rich folk :(
In my area (Germany) they banned the stone front yards because bees can eat stone. It's funny how the same ruling can go to the exact opposite direction, both reasons justified
That’s interesting. So what happens when bees eat stone?
They get stoned.
👏
They get a fair trial and then arrested.
Does the Arizona desert contain a great deal of bees...?
I can't tell if you're joking or not.
I had to look it up, but its real. https://accuratepestcontrolny.com/mortar-or-mason-bees-do-they-really-drill-into-the-brick-mortar/
I rented in a house in L.A. for a while where I was required in the renter's agreement to regularly water the lawn. It pissed me off. You shouldn't have a grass lawn in the Southwest.
If it mattered to them they would ban it for all homes, including the people who voted for them. It clearly doesn't which is why they are only targeted future theoretical voters.
When seatbelts came out it was almost impossible to get grandfathered in. Your car was going to have one or you weren't going to be able to drive it. Why? Because it mattered to the insurance companies that paid off the leadership.
Never ever trust a law that has a grandfather provision.
Great, now they can try zoning for anything other than single family with yard. Scottsdale's growth patterns are stupid and unsustainable, and cutting out grass lawns is a tiny but significant step
GOOD
I have wealthy family that live in Scottsdale.
Most people do not have green lawns there.
Having recently visited that hellscape, I cannot imagine the audacity of trying to grow a lawn there.
