3.14159 this is pi followed by 2653589 circumference over diameter 79323 OMG can’t you see 8462643 and now we’re on a spree (and that’s all I know)

Can maths nerds answer this?

The digits of Pi are infinite and non-repeating, would that mean the digits can contain sequences that correspond to the binary representation of the entire Wikipedia?

[–] Sekoia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 6 months ago

Yes and no. Pi is assumed to be normal, which means that any non-infinite sequence happens in pi. However, the digits of 0.1011011101111011111... are infinite and non-repeating, and yet you'll never see a 00 or a 2.

Yes, but it's not guaranteed that it will.

[–] Gladaed@feddit.de 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Are you sure? I thought we did not know if it was guaranteed or not.

It's guaranteed that we can't know the actual answer

[–] Zerush@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 months ago

Yes, also the answer to life, the universe, and everything, because of this old religous people hide it in using instead 3 16/113

Why is there a PI day, but no Kaprekar's Constant day?
