Did anyone read the article? They're just making it so that the video resizes slightly when you open the comment sidebar. Some of these comments seem disproportionately upset.

reading is hard

People don't actually care about the article, they're just here to circlejerk about their hate for commercial software.

[–] systemglitch@lemmy.world 0 points 8 months ago

I love hating on commercial software!

To anyone with a TV running Android I recommend SmartTubeNext: https://github.com/yuliskov/smarttube

Yes, use this and give the developer for this and for sponsor block a few ¢

They are going to make it more interactive by adding a confirmation button after a skip selection.

Because interacting is exactly what you want when you watch TV in the couch

That's basically what video games are.

[–] MonkderZweite@feddit.ch 11 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Videos are usually not interactive though.

Maybe it's a collaboration with David Cage.

And yet, my YouTube app has to be force closed at least once a day because they just can't seem to get their shit together...

Dear YouTube/Google/Alphabet/what-the-fuck-ever, GET YOUR APP SORTED FIRST! THEN TRY ADDING FEATURES!?

[–] SuperSynthia@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago (1 children)

That’s great and all, but I have discovered Peertube and I like that better. I’d rather donate to my instance than let those rat bastards siphon my data and expose me to ads. If they think I’m paying for shit they can go fuck themselves

It's like the old joke goes, "How do you know if somebody is a ~~vegan~~ FOSSbro? Don't worry, they'll tell you."

[–] SuperSynthia@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

I set myself up for that one haha

In terms of headlines that make my blood run cold, this one is right up there with Microsoft signals renewed interest in Windows.

Edit: I discovered yesterday that this feature is already in the Roku app and it's actually kind of nice. Now I'm even more suspicious. 😆
