Kinda scummy to do that considering they just rereleased all of them onto Steam, some of them for the first time on Steam.

Didn’t they release all these games for free at one point?

Nope. Just Command & Conquer, Red Alert, and Tiberian Sun plus all of their respective expansions.

Not sure how a second remastered collection would be "scummy", as RightHandOfIkaros puts it. The Remastered Collection was well done.

Yep. I believe it was for the release of 4, and if I remember right they just put the CD ISOs up for download with no copy protection and left any further patching up to the user.

The rereleasing was kind of a fan service. EA wanted to add some older titles on Steam, some CNC fans at EA heard about it and pushed them to also add CNC to it. I'm also now holding off with purchasing the collection with hopes of a generals remaster.. one can only hope, lol.

We need a C&C Dune edition.

I think you mean Dune: The Battle for Arrakis for Sega Genesis. That's owned by EA now as well IIRC, so definitely possible. It's not C&C, but it's an RTS and plays similarly.

Cool, I didn't actually check if it had a PC version, I played on Genesis. I'll have to go find it.

And it may not be C&C, but it was developed by the same studio, so the DNA is there
